Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boe and children, Barbara, Jon, Bruce and Alison, having returned to their home having spent the last year in Notodden, Norway. With the Boe's is Mr. Boe's niece, Kari Boe, from Stavanger, Norway. She will stay with the Boes for the remainder of the summer.

I've heard they had to drag Barbara. She liked Norway and was ready to give up on English and Miles City!

The choice of living in Norway or living in Miles City does seem to be a no-brainer.

True, except I might avoid Oslo these days.

Note to Amorette: the plural of Boe is Boes, not Boe's.

Wendy....

I do believe Amorette's use of the spelling of Boe's is correct - she is using the possessive form of the name....not the plural.

The first one should be "Boes" plural and the second one should be "Boe's" possessive.

Yes, I'm referring to this sentence:

With the Boe's is Mr. Boe's niece . . .

The first incidence of the name should be Boes, not Boe's. The only reason I bring it up is because it is a pet peeve of mine and I see plural names misspelled in all kinds of advertising and magazines.

Well then, I guess Amorette was just petting your peeve. Hopefully you feel better now.

Unfortunately, my proofreader died and I have a terrible time doing my own proofreading, especially on a computer screen.

Wendy,
get a life please. You turn so many posts into a grammatical inquisition. Or get some ADHD meds so you can at least stay on track.
