Safe to assume the Cartoonist has never spent any time in Laurel.

When anyone from outside Montana or Idaho hear the words Yellowstone, they think of the Park. I saw one cartoon that had Old Faithful spouting oil because if this spill. It is only fair, when I hear New York City, I think of muggers.

Actually, the cartoon was from the Salt Lake Tribune which I'm guessing is not the most progressive newspaper in the country. In my opinion its a fair cartoon even though the river below Laurel lacks the mountain peaks and you won't see many(or any) fly fishermen wading the Lower Yellowstone. I'm guessing there are dot commies out there besides me who've spent a lot of time on the lower Yellowstone and can appreciate its beauty.
I am, however, confident that a bunch of guys in white suits with high-tech toilet paper and absorbent booms will quickly return the river to normal and we should appreciate Exxon fouling the river because we owe it to them.

Maybe they can pull a couple rusty vehicles out the water while they're at it. When I see the photos, the only thing I think of is that crap we used to soak catfish bait in. I believe it was Texas crude.

I realize the Trib is the less conservative of the two, Wendy, but I doubt its "Mother Jones", either.

Regardless of the rivers blue ribbon fishing qualities or not, is it appropriate to have 40,000 gallons of oil entering the system? You all know the answer.
