I enjoyed my visit to Miles City this weekend. Thanks to Eric Brandt for the hospitality as well as to Ken, Ben & Mayor Joe. Unfortunately we weren't able to stream the parade with audio, but Eric does have a good sound track on the video we captured both street level and from the webcam.

The highlights of my weekend??? Laughing at the guy in the jacked up Willy's Jeep who shattered his universal joint while showing off in front of Eric's store during the parade was near the top. Ok, so I have a weird sense of humor.

I certainly enjoyed most of the parade. The Holy Rosary unicyclists were very good as were the drum & bugle corps from Sheridan, WY. The Eastern Montana Clydesdales as always were very impressive. The reception for the returning Guardsmen was very good to see.

There is one thing I could do without...call me a grump if you want, but I'm tired of people like those from an trucking company in Forsyth (which shall go unnamed) who decide to drive in the parade. They didn't do anything to deserve being in the parade in my book, not even washing the trucks. It's bad enough there was one truck from the company...but 3??? Come on, I'm all for advertising, but that qualifies as shameless promotion.

Ok, I'm off my soapbox. I'm also looking forward to my next Bucking Horse Sale weekend...it's been at least ten since the previous and I hope it won't be another 10 years.

Dave,

I enjoyed the webcam feed and look forward to the audio you lads captured.

I was watching it and couldn't help but think the parade should just be renamed "Stroll through the Yellow Pages."

You know, the Sanjel trucks are interesting to look at, with all those gauges and whatnot. Look like something out of a Myst video game but plain ol' semis are BORING. The parade did seem a little long this year. . .

One of the best things about the BHS is family and friends coming down for the event. We had both. Not alone, I saw our neighors (next door and across) had family down. The BHS is a real reunion time. Even if you don't have anyone directly coming to visit, just walk down the street and you'll run into someone you haven't seen for a while.

Thanks to all the BHS organizers for putting this event on -- thumbs up for all your work. Also, big thanks for the jazz group. It's not often the BHS has that action to offer.
