Service at the Miles City McDonald's
Posted by Red Neck Girl (+57) 12 years ago
Am I the only one who thinks it's interesting that the McDonald's in Miles City can possibly have worse service than they had before the giant remodel? Just sayin'.

About as good as DQ. New hours say they are open until 10 pm, got there at 9:40, lights still on and went to the front door, it was locked and then I went to the drive thru they wouldn't answer the intercom.

They both suck!! especially Dairy Queen, Went there two days ago and ordered 2 kids cones and waited exactly 19 min. in drive thru. Bull**it if you ask me.

McDonald's getting worse every time i go

I noticed the portions are smaller and more expensive after the remodel, plus not as good. Also they don't care if you order different from how it normally comes, they give it to you as is anyway (happens more with the chicken sandwiches). Mainly because "Made to order" doesn't exist anymore.

There's always a complaint about something here. McDonalds, Walmart, etc, etc, etc...

Do we forget that these are PEOPLE we are talking about? Sure YOU may not know them personally, but they still have the ability to be hurt, offended and embarassed. Which with some of the stuff posters say on here, how could they not be any of the three?

My wife works at McDonalds. I'll admit that this post immediately bothered me because of that. But let me share some things with you.

She's been told to "eff off" over the price of a cup of plain coffee... as if she has ANY control over the prices.

She's been called a b***h because the ice cream machine was broken... again not her fault.

And if they are short handed, is it really the fault of the workers that actually showed up? No. Yet, she's witness numerous accounts of her co-workers (some teenage KIDS) being cussed at for it.

If your complaints about all these places were so valid, you'd be taking it up with management or the corporate offices. Instead, you come to a locally popular forum and throw stones at the faceless and nameless service workers because you don't have to look an individual in the face and say what your issue is... because more than likely deep down you realize it's not their fault.

So next time you have to wait in line to order a little longer than you want to, or get told there's a 3 minute hold on your order... think about how you'd want to be treated at YOUR workplace and what comes up that makes YOUR day run a little less than perfect. Do you still feel like belittling and ruining another person's day? Really?

This was the best McDonald's I had EVER been to when it had the previous owner. I have actually talked to the current management (nicely, mind you), and I suspect many others have too. Regarding the treatment of the workers; poor treatment is going to happen at any business that provides service, no matter how good the management is. That's just the human nature of some truly mean individuals.

My initial post was intended to only criticize the design of the remodel. It was not intended to be about the wait staff. There is all this added room for seating, but everything bottlenecks at that one corner that is big enough for just about one person to go through at a time. The lines are all scattered out and nobody knows who has ordered or is just standing there waiting for their name to be called. At least at Wendy's you go through the ropes, order your food, pay, pick it up and go. Is it because the new espresso bar cut off the counter space or what?

JaDee,

Spoken like someone who's probably never actually bothered to complain to the right people... just whine a lot.

Red Neck Girl

You said service in your initial post... not layout. So I took it as such. As per the layout, I think with as busy as the store actually is... taking a note from Culvers and handing out numbers and taking food to people would stop the bottle neck of people hanging around by the counter waiting.

There are some very nice people who work at McDonalds, and give good service to the customers, BUT then there are also some that just don't. I was there the other day and ordered a large coke at the drive up, she handed me a medium, I said oh I ordered a large. The girl looked totally annoyed, rolled her eyes and said 'it's gonna be awhile' how could it take 'awhile' to make a large coke? then when she handed it to me, it was way overfilled and pop spilling all over the side of the cup so she took the lid off and dumped some of it on the ground by my car, then handed me my drink ugh but... like I said, some of the people there are great I have to say.

You guys are missing the point... someone who can't watch criticism lobbied against their friends/coworkers will say anything to discredit the person making the complaint.

...not that it changes the actual validity of the complaint but a smoke screen is better than nothing.

Then the pendulum swings the other way - the complaint begins to paint everyone with broad strokes as-if ignoring the limited circumstances of one time with one person.

It's like a crabby game of tennis.

19 minutes isn't long at lunchtime. There are a many big food orders at mealtimes. You can not move forward at the drive thru until each meal is delivered. If you are in a hurry, go inside where you will be waited on while people step aside as they await their order. Lunch time is not a good time to go to the drive-thru for ice cream.

JaDee, I'm sorry about the poor service you got at the Dairy Queen, I doubt you did talk to anyone with a "manager" tag at the DQ seeing as we dont have one like that. Also 19min seems like a bit far to believe, we do have timers inside that are watched carefully and if there is icecream behind a large food order the people in front of you should have been pulled forward. If you want to give me a call, i'll try and make it right somehow, but you being rude on the net and say "they both suck, especially dairy queen" is a little wrong. Also, we do take in complaints and we do try and do something about it. We take costumer satisfaction very seriously and try to make every one feel good. Like I said, i'd appreciate a call from you so we can discuss who, what, and when you had your poor service from. My number is 4069513966, or you can call the store and talk to my sister at 2342685, Please ask for Tab, Carmen, or Tab Jr. Thanks

Time stretches out when you're waiting. I remember a stop light in Phoenix when I was in college that I had to sit through at least twice a day and sometimes more. I hated it and would have bet money that it lasted at least 5 minutes until one day I timed it...45 seconds.

I'm just gonna throw my opinion out there.. My girlfriend works at McDonalds, a lot of people that worked there quit, maybe it's because the managers don't wanna do their job. Service there can be crappy but what do you expect.. it's fast food not a five star restaurant. If you're that pissed about your service why don't you go to the real head manager in Billings I believe and do something about it instead of bashing on the employees. If you havent noticed it is mostly teenagers that work there.
Top
Posted by Red Neck Girl (+57) 12 years ago
It has always been a younger crowd working there, but the previous owner really had customer service and "people flow" figured out. Everyone working there has actually been PLEASANT to me, just not Johnny On The Spot, possibly due to the bottleneck inside. Maybe this forum will get some attention to the right people and something good will come out of it.

Top 10 things McDonald's should do to prevent obesity:

10: Kill the clown.

9: Murder the Mayor. Let the Hamburgler go nuts.

8: Convert the ballpit to quicksand. Make those little tubbies work to get out!

7: Change the "drive thrus" to "waddle thrus". Force some exercise.

6: Put a max-fat limit into who works there! Sheesh, don't let the best consumers get behind that counter!

5: Put up a fake front that resembles a "Curves". God knows they need the business.

4: Put cute Burma-shave signs alongside the "waddle thru". i.e. Extra value you want?......We like to taunt.......Order slop with ease......Be morbidly obese!.....Ronald-Rave.

3: Change the name of the "quarter-pounder" to the "you'll be rounder".

2: Put scales in front of all the cash registers which loudly broadcast the weight of the person ordering and add cute little observations like "Ouch! Hurry and get off of me blimpo! And thanks for visiting McDonald's this hour. See you in 60!"

And the number one thing McDonald's can do to prevent obesity is:

1: Push the self-destruct button and explode!

dear Jadee,I personally work at mcdonald's myself,a crew worker and i stumbled across your very rude, and disrespectful posts. We do not appreciate you talking "smack" about our work place. I understand that at times food may be made slowly, but that gives you no right to talk down about our workplace. We work hard everyday, and think its disrespectful of you to say crap about us online instead of to our faces or manager's. I agree with Mr.Fleming, if you have a problem with our service call us. Don't talk poop on Milescity.com

Dear JaDee, as a McDonalds employee, i am appalled by your behavior towards our service, i would like to see you come behind the counter and show us how to work if you think you understand how to do stuff better than we do. You are very disrespectful, maybe you should go to www.mcdonalds.com and file a complaint about or service instead of being a "Troll" on milescity.com and talk crap about us. I believe you are quite childish to be honest. and I know, I'm a "Tard" for my post but honestly, i would like to see you try and do our work, and deal with customers like YOU all day long. If you have a problem talk to our district supervisor Shondee she is here usually twice a week and she is all about helping maintain good service, or you can talk to Don Mecca who is also down here twice a week, who helps our managers be better managers. Thank you.

From what I've heard... due to this post... management at McDonalds is getting involved and rotating shifts they work to observe where possible customer service issues are coming from... they are all very much aware of this thread as are the workers. Imagine walking into work every day wondering if some random customer is going to bad mouth you possibly by name on here? Fun, fun!

Now, to JaDee, if you're even still on here... you say you aren't but most forum trolls say they're leaving then come back... is this not something being done about YOUR complaints? Hmm?

And, no, I don't work there also. I'm not a "tard" though that is a sickening term to use to belittle another human being. Grow up. And, I'm a Mile Citian... it's a public forum and I'm not breaking any of the forum's rules... I have every right to be here.

If you talk to Flemings at DQ with a complaint they will make it right. I had some young girls hand me some extremely sloppily made ice cream products which immediately went all over my car. I went in and talked with Santos. Those girls came out and cleaned the ice cream out of my car. Approach is everything in complaining.
