"How do you catch a unique crawdad?"

"You neak up on it!"

Cheers!

Tie a chunk of bacon onto some strong string....feed the string with the bacon on it into the crayfish's hole...you may have to move the bacon gently, until you feel the crayfish take the bait....pull 'him' up out of his hole and you just caught the crayfish!

Instead of bacon... try a hot blonde crawmom.

I saw an article in Field & Stram one time that involved a gallon jar, a pint jar and a pen light but not sure about the details. They also make crayfish traps too. I am not sure where around Miles City there is an over abundance of crawdads but I know Castlerock lake in Colstrip is thick with them, also Tongue River Res.

We used to use a 10 foot long net, and drag it across a cow tank. We would get 1000's and sell them to bait stores. They spook easy, and they are fast little guys - good luck.

Try this link - look for the article, 'to berl or bawl'

for a photo of a crayfish hole.

There used to be a lot of them in the little stream leaving Spotted Eagle. Just turn the rocks over and be ready to grab.
