Super Paintball Match!

so with all this other talk of paintball i thought that here would be a perfect place to post this idea. last year a few friends of mine had an awesome idea for a huge paintball match but it fell through. with the start of paintball season i thought that i would try and take up the idea and make it happen. with the help of a few friends we have started thinking of plans and working on it but there is still much left to do. so here is the plan. with the use of rowboats, canoes, and rafts we would do an island assault of the island on spotted eagle and call it Spotted Iwo Jima. one group of people on the island would be defending it from the invading force coming from the boats. i wanted to get this idea out here online so anybody if interested could get a hold of me to help make this happen. i also wanted to know if there was anybody that would know who i could talk to to make sure this idea is ok. if somebody could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it greatly. so please anybody interested or anybody that could help me out my name is Jakob and you can reach me at 853-3243 thank you.

Jakob,
Spotted Eagle is owned by the City of Miles City. I'm not sure who exactly you would need to talk to, but I would start with City Hall. Surely they can point you in the right direction.

With the level of public that visit out there during the spring/summer months, you might have issues finding a time when you can do this and not have a lot of other people around. There also may be insurance issues or other legalities with using that area. City officials can tell you for sure.

Something else to think about is that island typically is used this time of year by ducks and geese as a nesting area. I haven't been out there lately to see if there's any there, but that has been the case in years past. Its a pretty small island so having even a few people running around on it would likely disturb any nests that may be there. Probably wouldn't go over well with the people who enjoy the critters out there.

Good luck with your planning and hope you can work something out!

You should speak with the Miles City Paintball Club, they have scheduled a paintball event in May (21 May). It is a 1st annual event, being played on private ground 14 miles outside of Miles City. It will have both squad level missions and good ole fashion take and hold bases for the everyday player. You can contact Miles City Paintball Club at 406-853-5623 (Matt Eurich) or 406-234-4641 (Tony Cain). the club plays every sunday, pending weather starting @ 200 pm. Club links up at Aarons parking lot to go out and play @ one of our playing locations.
