korky my friend - I have not vented forth a tirade on mc.com in a very long time. I'll admit - you and the kevlar-esque mythology to which you ascribe have brought me close, oh so very close to a righteous jeremiad... but life's to short to argue with people who cannot or will not actually engage in honest disputation. I could lay out objective facts, you would dismiss them. I could present chains of logic, you would ignore them.
You have put your hope and trust in people who use you for your vote while they mine the 98% for the equity in whatever assets we've managed to accumulate - and when they get caught with our wallets in their greedy porcine hands, they send the good little capo's (such as yourself) out to defend them, to cry "Socialism!!!" and "Obamacare!!!" (as, lest we forget, you collect your pensions and medicaid) and gnash your teeth about the deficit and wail about birth certificates.
They send you forth to tell us that we should love jesus more because that's why we're becoming poorer per capita as a nation, that if only we were right with God we'd surely have no need for welfare or health insurance.
The rubes have been convinced that it's the economic outcomes that should be entwined with morality, not the inputs, not the well-spoken men in nice suits who go to the right churches and assure you that all will be better if you just work harder, if you just take a job, any job, even if it means that you will never, ever be as well off as you were two years ago, even if it means that the window of opportunity for your kids or your grandkids will shrink a little bit more (and let's be honest, it was already smaller than the one your grandparents created for you out of the rubble of the great depression).
You are on your own! they say, and they want you to believe that, because it makes it so much easier for the wolves to eat when the sheep believe that the herd is a lie and a sin.
A white-washed tomb upon a hill korky - that is what I think of your beliefs and your leaders and your saints.
