Sad to say, I had all the lectures I want from a nun back when I was a kid at Sacred Heart.

The "Last Lecture" is not meant to be a "lecture" session about "do this" or "do that". It is about what Sister Patrick Murphy would want to share if her life were to cease tomorrow. Essentially, what insights does she have to share, what can her life experiences teach us, what has she learned in life that she can pass on, and what would she want us to remember about her if she were gone.

CNADA developed the idea of the "Last Lecture" from a speech a man gave, who was diagnosed with an incurable cancer prior to giving his speech, and his last words to his peers and the public. We took this idea to encourage self growth, social closeness and awareness.

Our choice in speakers is to offer a variety of speakers along with highlighting their social influence on the Miles City community.

I hope this explanation changes your view of what the "Last Lecture" really is. We hope you join us!

I understand your adversity to lectures. But the event is also a benefit for CNADA and has been very fun in past years. The dinner and entertainment is good, as is the comraderie among those who attend. Each year the program asks a person who has had an impact in Miles City and the surrounding area to impart their 'life wisdom' as if this really was the last opportunity to speak to us. Both Dr. Randy Rauh and author John Moore gave wonderful talks in the past. Sister Pat is very excited to return to Miles City and to help CNADA in this fundraising effort. She will do a great job. Her sense of humor is terrific.
