Running Trails?
Posted by Paulene Fitchett (+22) 12 years ago
Still new to the area....are there any running trails around MC? Looking for something not too rugged but someplace where I can just zone out & not have to worry about traffic.

I love to run but can't stand running around a track or running nowhere on a treadmill (plus really don't like the feeling of practically running into a wall while on the treadmills at the Centra).

Thanks for any recommendations,

Paulene

Have you found the developed trail around the fairgrounds? You could also run up at the cemetery, if it doesn't creep you out!

There's a trail the runs along valley drive east all the way to kinsey turnoff.

Don't forget the newly improved trails at Spotted Eagle.

Holy Rosary has also created a trail around their property. You can park in their lot and walk or round the loop until you are done in. I get about half way across the lot but I see others on the path quit a bit.

For dirt road/trail running, there is also Fort Keogh and Strawberry Hill.

If you're a racer, some of the upcoming local races include:

CASA run - April 30, Miles City
Buzzard Day run (5K and 10K) - June 11, Makoshika State Park (near Glendive)
Terry Badlands Trail Run (5K and 10K) - July 9, Terry Badlands Wilderness Study Area (just west of Terry)

Welcome to MC!
