How I pick Stardust

Sometimes, I know that families are still around. Sometimes, I know it was something important. Sometimes, just the name catches my eye. For example:

Mrs. Ica Sixvick left recently for her home in Bismarck, N.D., after spending the last two weeks visiting in Miles City at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ina Irish.

Great names like those deserve to be remembered.

Years ago I liked the one about the woman who was knocked over by a horse downtown, but was saved from grievous injury because she landed on her bustle. I like the humorous articles, but is fun to see familiar names, too.

I also love to read the Stardust except at my age it saddens me some when I realize how many of the people I knew back then are gone. Then I realize that this is another way to keep them alive in some small way. Leif

Just before Christmas, when Mom was still with us, I found a series of articles on my father's trip to Washington, D. C. for a White House Conference on Aging he attended. We reminisced about souvenirs he brought home. Came across the Irish linen tablecloth and napkins he brought for her while cleaning out her bedroom. Sniff.

I LOVE doing Stardust! Even the things I can't run in the paper.

Amorette, you do a wonderful job with that section. It always tickles my mom to get something in there about my father. She also loves the ribbing she can give me when I make it because I am "old enough" to make it in 25 years! It is a great column and greatly appreciated!
