Rebherg and the Tea Party in 2012

U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., will announce later this week he is running for the U.S. Senate in 2012 for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Jon Tester, a Washington, D.C., publication has reported.

Citing "a knowledgeable Montana GOP political operative," Roll Call reported last night that Rehberg will make his announcement at Saturday's Lincoln-Reagan dinner in Helena. Rehberg will be joined at the event by Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., founder of the House Tea Party Caucus, which the Montana congressman joined.

As my Granny used to say, "Lie down with dogs - you get up with fleas." An insult to dogs in my opinion, but sadly accurate here.

Thanks for the link to that site Bill. I especially enjoyed the graphic for "pants on fire" lying!

As for Rehberg the fact that he's so blatantly joined the Tea Partiers says a lot to me. And then there's this from the Gazette:

A lawsuit filed in July by Rehberg Ranch Estates against the city of Billings alleging that firefighters failed to control a 2008 wildfire at the subdivision sits idle in Yellowstone County District Court nearly four months later.

An attorney defending the city against the lawsuit filed by Rep. Denny Rehberg and his wife, Jan, said there may be a "political portion" to the decision by Rehberg and his lawyers to not immediately move forward with the litigation.

"I understand they don't plan to actually serve the city (with the lawsuit) until after the election," said Michele Braukmann, a Billings attorney hired by the city.

Rehberg's Democratic opponent in the Nov. 2 election, Dennis McDonald, said Wednesday that he is not surprised that the complaint filed on July 2 has gone dormant. He described the lawsuit as "embarrassing for the congressman, who is suing the taxpayers."

He's a poor, yet somehow accurate, representation of Montanans. I hate him.

I told my mother the other night that I was waiting for the announcement that Michelle Bachman was found running through the streets naked. Most crazies seem to end up that way.

He might change his mind now that Michelle has officially thrown down on Veteran's funding. She kicked a hen house she probably wasn't aware existed before now. Pretty much every group associated with Veterans and Vet benefits has her in their crosshairs now.
