I have already started saving to buy it for $499. Since I just bought my droid2 3 months ago for $250... Dunno what I shall do with it now.

Keep it until June and get an iPhone 5.

Levi, that is if Verizon follows the Apple refresh cycle. Which, when asked about, the Verizon head guy said he couldn't comment on.

Why not keep the droid and save the $499 for more important things?

I'm 18, and still live at home. What is more important to a teenager than the latest cell phone?

Well, the Droid 2 came out several months after the Iphone 4 so with regard to it being the "latest" you're actually downgrading.

Josh, it would be Apple that would do the refresh as they do every summer. The only way Verizon wouldn't follow Apple's iPhone refresh cycle is if they were to dump the iPhone before June which I would guess wouldn't happen

I suspect the iPhone this June will not have that is new. By June of 2012, both ATT and Verizon should have LTE up and running. Apple then releases a world phone that works on both networks. They may even go back to the old A/B carrier format that was in the first bag phones. which would allow you to have a phone number with two different carriers.

Up and running yes but some of the tech sites I've seen don't expect LTE to be widespread and cost-effectve until at least 2013.

My guess would be we'll see both CDMA and GSM iPhone 5's at WWDC 2011 this summer with LTE ones coming possibly in 2012 but more likely 2013.

The last place one should look for what is going to happen with technology is a "tech website". A better place to look is what the hedge fund managers and other financial guru's are saying.

3G was pretty well established when the original iPhone came out but the iPhone didn't have it. Apple has never been one to push the new tech until they know they can do it perfectly so they tend to be a bit behind the curve on that sort of thing.

I don't know if I agree that there won't be much new though. The new line of droids have a major processing power boost over last year. If Apple doesn't at least get a dual core processor into the iPhone 5 it would be a major fail IMO. Apple also has a way of making last year's model suck once the new one comes out (see the 3GS becoming super slow once it was upgraded to iOS4). They may also get rid of the glass back that is apparently easy to scratch and break and fix the antenna issue (overblown as it was).

What are the "hedge fund managers and other financial guru's" saying about the processor in the iPhone 5?
