In an effort to lighten up the conversation around here and gain a little insight into one another's lives and thought I pose the following question:

You're going to be stranded on an island for the rest of your life. There is water and food to get you by and materials to make shelter of some sort....

1. What one food would you want to have or be able to grow?

4. What one tool or utensil would you want to have?

5. Who would you want to be stranded with (one person).

6. What single frivolous item would you want to have with you?

For me:

1. Oranges

2. Beethoven's 5th Symphony

3. A good medical reference book- Grey's Anatomy.

4. A Hatchet

5. This is a tough one... I should say my wife, but after thinking about it I decided I would not want to subject her to being stuck on an island for the rest of our lives, apart from our families and kids. So in light of that I'm going to say Penelope Cruz, she's slim, doesn't eat much and is attractive.

6. Hmm... how about a soft blanket.

1. Apples.

2. Rolling Stones Greatest Licks because if I'm going to die out there, at least I'll go out rockin'. But a CD player would be needed too! And a plug in, or lots of batteries, or a solar hookup. I'm too practical for this game!

3. Island Survival for Dummies.

4. Pulaski.

5. Matthew McConnaughey (or however.) If Chad gets Penelope, I'm taking her boyfriend. He's strong. Plus, we could maybe fashion a raft out of tree limbs and his hair plugs.

6. Chapstick! A never-ending tube, preferably. Or, a life jacket.

6. This is really a hard decsion. Some possiblities: my Tablet PC, my Broncos blanket, my guitar... but since God doesn't put marble tops on cheap furniture... I will go practical and say a comfortable hat.

Gunnar I wasn't aware you were a switch hitter. The premise is your stuck on this island forever, until you die. Care to change Superman to someone more shapely?

Superman could fly and carry me off the island, but if that is not the premise of the question...well, then, he could fly and bring back any babe in the world (including my snuggle bunny for an occasional visit).

He also can fly off and bring back steaks, roasts, fish, vegetables, 24 year old Scotch, a fine surf fishing rod, whatever, while I laid about in the hammock. I would just brew beer as a hobby.
