I am sickened and disgusted to learn that many of our local farmers and ranchers don't feed their barn cats. Some of these folks are well-respected in the community. It's time we stop these murderers. Someone other than me, please call the ASPCA.

Somehow we need to get a good catfight going here, and in the other threads on the same topic. Miles City is getting boring again. I know you're trying, but come on, step it up a little!

Solution for barn cats = 22 Ruger. They are not fixed, and breeding like, well barn cats...

Feeding is not the answer. Spaying/neutering/vaccination is the answer & no farmer/rancher can keep up with the expense of that. Unfortunately, elimination of the most feral is the answer.

It is not just a rural problem. Miles City is virtually crawling with unwanted/uncared for cats. Which is more humane-slow death by disease or starvation or a quick end?

Sad, but true. Life's not fair...

I always thought mice fed the barn cats? Which is why they are in the barn to begin with. If you want to take up a real cause..consider the millions of ants that are poisoned every summer day in MC. Horrific!

I know at my grandpas ranch he had many barn cats but the population never grew out of control due to other animals eating them such as owls and coyotes. In addition the cats never starved because there were always plenty of mice, birds and baby rabbits for them to feed on especially around the grain bins. They are no different than say bobcats that live out in the wild, which were around the ranch also. So my question is what is the big deal?
