It takes a big man to stand up to socialists.

It takes a bigger one to step on the head of a five foot tall woman.

I'm stunned that Rickenhawk would make light of a woman getting stomped.

Of course, she doesn't share Rickenhawk's political views, so I guess she deserves whatever she gets.

Basic thug behavior. The guy in power makes the rules and the rest of you are just supposed to bow down and accept it. Has nothing to do with politics, just bullies enjoying their trade.

The stomper's occupation is "retired."

Isn't it funny that so many teabaggers are on the government dole or retired?

Get a job, teabag.

That is the most disgusting thing I've seen in a long time.

These dumb procreates are so protective of the Constitution but I seriously doubt any of these illiterate pricks have actually read it.

Evidentially the 1st Amendment no longer has meaning to these clowns and is merely an obstacle to be overcome.

Nah.

I'd guess the teabagging stomper either:

(a) filed a bogus worker's comp claim and is living off that
(b) washed out of a government job, possibly as an MP in the Army or maybe as Walt the postman, and is living off a bogus mental disability claim.
(c) was a full-time firefighter in Bumprocreate, KY (Miles City, Montana's sister city) and retired after 25 years of sitting on his fat ass.

Any of those options would be teabagger-like.

I'm not a Rand Paul proponent nor do I want to defend the stomper guy but this woman who got stomped goes running up to Rand Paul's car window, shoves her sign in at him, poking at his face with the sign, then goes running around his vehicle and comes back for seconds. If you go looking for trouble don't be surprised when you find it.

Is there no sanity left on any side of the political debate? Of course if you accost a candidate for political office there are going to be repercussions. Either demonstrate in a non-threatening manner or be prepared for the consequences. I think the Rand Paul haters who are making an issue of this look foolish. Am I misunderstanding something here?

As I'm sure Bridgier knows deep down, I'm not really condoning violence.

The seiu thing was just to point out that if we want to spend all our time pointing out each others' sides' kooks, it could easily be a 24/7 occupation.

Kooks on the left over the years have been every bit as violence-prone and freakish as those on the right. It's all about where you focus.

Although I do have to ask... how apoplectic would mc.com get if a Republican tried something like this.

I have to agree. I don't think that this is a reflection whatsoever on Rand Paul, but instead a reflection on this "kook" as Ricky so eloquently puts it. I will, however, chuckle to myself if Bob L. was spot-on with the background on this guy. It takes all kinds. And yes, there are kooks on all sides. PETA is a great example. For a group that detests violence against animals, some of their kooks sure don't mind promoting violence against human beings.

This clown even holds elective office.

And he's originally a stump jumper, too! Attended (but didn't graduate) from Lincoln High in beautiful(?) Teef River Falls. What a winner.

I don't support violence on either side of any political issue. What happened to Lauren Valle is wrong. IMO, pushing a women to the ground or roughly handling her is wrong and stepping on her head is despicable.

However, in the interest of understanding the full situation, Lauren isn't innocent as the wind-driven snow:

Not at all. Again what happened to her is wrong. But, I believe it to be a little disingenuous to not present the whole story of what caused the reaction in the first place and pretend that the tea-party people are the only ones on the face of the earth that behave in such a manner.

I'm not so much talking about the personal property damage, as the use of arson to accomplish their goals. As everyone knows, fire is completely unpredictable, and with every "action", they risk not only the lives of human beings, but the lives of the animals they say they must protect at all costs.

I think that this nitwit at the Rand Paul rally is a jerk, and I do think that stepping on her head puts it over the edge. But, I don't think I can make the argument that it is worse than intentionally starting fires, knowing you cannot control the outcome, and risking the lives of others in the process.

Yes, could we please see some body count statistics from the Rand Paul rally?

Anyway, how were Paul's people supposed to know they were dealing with a peace-loving type, vs., let's say, a Jack Ruby-type, when she is rushing at the man? I agree with Dave and Richard. She is not without culpability. That doesn't mean she should have been treated so poorly once she was on the ground, but you have to expect if you rush at a public figure, there is going to be a response you may not like.

Because the people who held her down and stepped on her head weren't security personnel or professionals. The security professionals had already dealt with the protester, as could be seen in Richard's video.

In other words, the people holding her down and stepping on her head were doing it because they wanted to, not because they had to.

I'm going to put on a wig and a hoodie, charge at a candidate's car window as he pulls up to a campaign rally, shove something into his open car window, be shooed away by security, then run around his vehicle and charge at him again just a few seconds later as he walks away from his vehicle. Then I'm going to cry foul when I'm tackled and held by campaign volunteers as they wait for the police to come and get me so I can't keep disrupting the candidate. Brilliant. That poor, poor thing.
