Who else is hunting the elusive KATL pumpkin? I got the first clue...

I am hunting the pumpkin also, I have the first clue also, I record the clues on my boom box on a cassett tape because I can't write as fast as they talk, then I rewind and write the clue down. I also have my boom box on record while I am at work for 2 hours, so I can play the tape back and get any clues I miss while I am working.

They said pumpkin number 1 was found and taken to the radio station at about 6:00 p.m. They will give information on it tomorrow along with clues for a new pumpkin. Does anyone know where pumpkin number 1 was found?

I think that Laura should get bonus points simply for owning a 'boom box' ..

Pumpkin number 1 was found by the tennis courts. Listen for clues on 770 a.m. KATL for pumpkin number 2 in the October 2010 pumpkin hunt.

I am new to this chase...How will we know it is the KATL pumpkin? Is it marked? How many different clues do they give throughout the day? Are there prizes?

Thanks for filling me in. I have been listening to the clues, but still trying to figure out the basic guidelines.

Thanks,

Carli

I've never personally found a KATL pumpkin, although hunted long and hard for the dang thing... It's supposed to have KATL written on it, or it's marked in some way like that.

They give out clues throughout the day, sometimes 4-5...you just have to listen for the creepy pumpkin hunt music...

And, they have prizes for finding the pumpkin...I believe they are gift certificates....

Good luck!

Does anyone know if the pumpkin HAS to be "in town" or can it be out at the fairgrounds...or Fort Keogh????? Etc....
Top

I don't believe it has to be "in town" necessarily. They can be hidden anywhere in the greater Miles City area but I don't think they hide them too far out of town.

I didn't realize how high the unemployment was in this town until this afternoon while i was out working at the pumping plant and watching all of the people driving in circles looking for that pumpkin. Hope they find it so they can go and buy some more smokes for next pumpkin chase.

I will have you know that yes I am one of those individuals you saw out there and yes I do have a job, I work full time and so does my husband! Our kids are out of School for two and we were looking for something fun to do with the kids to entertain them! Not everything is as it appears! We had a blast looking for it!

No kidding! I took two of my fulltime coworkers out & we looked one afternoon. Ironic someone whose goes by the user name "sloth" would be making judgements about peoples' ambition...

From KATL's facebook page:

KATL Pumpkin found this morning. Just left of yellowstone bridge as you head out. In the trees above the sand bar. Leanne and Karlee Stewart were the super sluthes. New clues and new pumpkin starting after one.

So, everyone in Miles City works eight to five Monday through Fridays and doesn't take time off for lunch. If that is the case, who is running all those businesses and services on evenings and weekends? Believe it or not, it is possible to have a forty hour a week job and never work eight to five. Ever.

Some of the clues are miserable but the last one wasn't too bad. Problem is finding it once you find where they have hidden it.

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that most of those people have jobs, they just work for the government.

I laugh at Sloth's remarks because I often see people out tooling around during normal business hours and think, "Man, don't these people have jobs?" Then I realize they must think the same thing about me, since I am out there too. And most of the time I look pretty ragged, don't shave and wear old clothes, ect.

The trespassing issues are interesting and you should really reconsider the legality of the trespass. Public property, posted public property, private property and posted private property. I won't pretend to know all of the rules, (which vary from state to state) but something may be legal, not necessarily right.

I sure wish my community had something like this chase. I would have my kids out hunting all day!

Pumpkin number 4 was found at the airport. Listen for clues to pumpkin number 5 this afternoon and hope someone finds it this afternoon or tomorrow which is Friday the last day of the pumpkin hunt. The pumpkin hunt has been real fun!

What is the prize for finding the pumpkin? Is it a gift certificate or cash and, if either, does it increase with each day the pumpkin isn't found?
Top
Posted by Laura Sevier (+1830) 13 years ago
The prize is cash and it increases each day the pumpkin is not found.

Is there a limit on how many pumpkins you can find? Or can one person find all of them, if lucky enough? Lol
Top
Posted by Laura Sevier (+1830) 13 years ago
Limit is one pumpkin per family
