Buck, I was going to post "Moms, this is an important first step towards achieving your daughter's lifelong dream of becoming a ring card girl", but I thought better of it.

The little girl on this video is doing the same moves that Janet Leigh did in Bye Bye Birdie in 1963. When Janet Leigh did them the men in the lodge meeting literally fell off their chairs.

And it's never too early to teach girls how to work it.

I appreciate what you're doing, Jen and Samar. I just "love" the parallels between pole dancing and belly dancing.

I didn't know Chinese splits had anything to do with belly dancing

i find it interesting that there is resistance to a healthy activity for little girls. i have been dancing/belly dancing for years and have never found myself employed on a pole, stage or anything remotely similar. actually, i have great self confidence and a healthy body type as a result of dancing.

They're just having fun. Most everything is a big joke here. It's just for fun! To take offense just fuels it.

I think it does affect the child's perception of herself and her value..

Call me old fashioned, but I think 8-13 year old girls have enough adulthood shoved at them. Keep in mind I feel hula-hoops should be banned for anyone under 18 as the gyrations required to operate said hoops clearly lead to the possibility of carnal thoughts.

Belly dancing for 8 to 13 year olds? What the heck? Why not pole dancing? At least that's a marketable skill.

You're old-fashoned. And I agree with you.
