This isn't really a Miles City issue but,

To the idiot in the Wyoming Highway Department that decided to start a chip-seal project on Hwy 59 for 80 miles south of Gillette during the first week of the Sturgis bike rally: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!!!

Thank you. I feel better now.

Have some mercy..it's probably someone with uncontrollable envy of those who CAN partake in the rally it's really his/her only release

I remember when they redid 59 South to Broudus. It was a mess of powder dust and mud holes when they watered the road. Remembered that they were laughing at the bikers going through a particularly bad hole just outside of Broudus.. That was until one of the bikers turned out to be one of the 'big cheese's' of the Montana DOT. Attitudes soon changed!

Not to barge in, but i need to rant quickly.

To anyone who rides their horses on the streets of Miles City, PLEASE clean up after your animal. Driving through piles of dung smells horrible, and looks horrible on your car.

How can Miles City have an authentic Old West atmosphere without the tang of fresh horse poo?

I saw these girls go through the drive thru at Wendy's on horseback... It was weird.

So as long as we are ranting...
What's the deal with people leaving their rummage sale signs on the street corners all summer long? Does it really take that much effort to remove the damned things after the rummage sale? And why can't our local police ticket these people for littering? It would be pretty easy to figure out who to ticket since the address is posted right there for all to see.

Well, Josh has a point... his Escape is probably getting hung-up in the horse poop. My Jeep on the other hand...

I've seen the horse crap on sidewalks... If people who have dogs clean up after their pets...why don't the horse riders? It's great that they can ride around town, but I think it would be wise for them to start packing horsie doody baggies too... It's just a nice thing to do.

A Ford Focus, this is the Top Gear, a BBC car show, crew's favorite small car and these guys drive everything up to and including a Bugatti Veyron.

Monday's show started with a section on the Focus and the new design for it coming out. They loved the old and the new one coming out.

Now, just how do you expect a rider to stop and clean up after their horse? Carry a sack and shovel? GET REAL! A pile of road apples isn't THAT big. Drive around it. It was all horses at one time. Think of the stink of fumes, fuel, and the noise they had to endure. UGH!

Ford is coming out with some pretty awesome cars lately. The new Taurus SHO has a 3.5L V6 and gets 365 horsepower out of it and they still get 20+ mpg. Pretty impressive.

Indeed Levi. Similar to their current model year 2010 F150. My grandparents just got the XLT model and are getting about 20MPGs on the highway, 19ish in town. Pretty dang good for a V8.

hmmm...maybe one of the area ranchers could invent a horse diaper? That would solve the problem. Could you picture that? People riding around on horses wearing huge Pampers with holes for their tails...I hear Jay Leno calling!...

...on second thought, having to wipe or wash the doodie mess off the horse afterwards would be disgusting, so never mind.

I have too much time on my hands, I guess.

Horses pulling carriages on the Denver 16th Street Mall carry a little 'basket' under their tails to prevent droppings.
