My St. Patricks Day.....
6:30 a.m. Up, shower, get dressed.
7:30 a.m. Corned beef and root vegetables are loaded in the crock pot. Set on LOW
7:45 a.m. Ice fishing gear loaded in pickup, drive to Canyon Ferry.
8:30 a.m. Inspect planned on fishing spot. Ice too rotten. Drive some more around lake.
9:00 a.m. Find stable ice. Drill 6 holes and fish.
12:45 p.m. After 15+ bites and nothing on the ice, I give up. Pack up gear and start heading down the road.
1:30 p.m. Stop at O'Malleys Bar on Canyon Ferry and have two pints of Guinness and a bowl of Irish Stew with soda bread for lunch.
2:30 p.m. Leave said tavern, and drive home.
3:15 p.m. Home. Go run some errands.
4:00 p.m. Stop off at neighborhood bar for a couple more pints of Guinness, plus a shot of Jamesons.
5:00 p.m. Home. Pull corned beef out of crock pot, wrap in foil, and place in 200°F oven. Drain potatoes, leeks and carrots, and put pack into dry crok pot on warm to dry out. Transfer crock pot liquid to another pot, and boil on high until volume is reduce in half.
5:15 p.m. Pour a glass of Bayern Kilkarney Irish Red Ale
6:00 p.m. Volume reduced. lower to simmer, and add cabbage, now cut up into sections.
6:10 p.m. Open corned beef from foil, slather on a hot mustard and maple syrup glaze, heat oven to broil, and brown tha glaze.
6:30 p.m. SERVE
7:00 p.m. BELCH
8:00 p.m. Get on milescity.com and brag about how well your corned beef turned out.
