Never buy a desk chair, no matter the cost, from walmart...

Otherwise, you have that happen and you end up on the floor while on an important call in a bit of pain...

Maybe you put it together wrong...

Well, what broke was the part where they made holes in the chair arms for the bolts. They were weak points apparently. Cause the arm wasnt broken anywhere else...

Oh, and the damned chair ripped my new shirt. It will pay.

i don't purchase furniture at walmart because it is all crappy. that and you probably aren't supposed to be leaning heavily on one side (or performing any acrobatic acts in the chair.) random side note: what's up with the plate on the floor?

Must have been a lemon. I have had this exact same chair for three years (although I see that the color of the chair base has been changed in between; mine is solid black). For the price, this was a wonderful purchase. Bummer for you Josh.

Plate ended up on the floor when I grabbed for something. I grabbed it, and it came with.

LOL, omg I just bought that same chair. My son has already put a small tear in the back side. Note to self: don't lean heavily on one arm of the chair or I might end up like that guy. LOL

Tracy, I actually never leaned on either arm. Never used them. I just reclined back in it, and it decided to snap, just that arm was weaker I guess. And it wasn't funny. My head went into/through my wall.

Too bad the "milescam" didn't catch that.

haha that makes it even greater.. i mean im glad to hear your ok... but can you image seeing this.. you're leaning back to get an extra strech after long hours at the computer.. you fall, drop a plate, and your head went into/through the wall.. all unexpectedly.. haha maybe im the only one that sees humor in this..

Sounds like America's Funniest Videos stuff to me! Sorry if you got hurt.
On another note, our first piece of furniture from WalMart was an entertainment center, and we never had a problem with it....until we decided to take a "shortcut" and move it WITH the TV in it (32" tube) while I was painting.....from then on it was warped. We also have a computer desk (it's only fault is that it's got a few nicks in it from the computer chair, which was bought at WalMart. Also have a 5 shelf bookcase and a new entertainment center/tv stand we bought when we got our lcd tv (since the old center was way too small). We don't and haven't had any complaints with any of our walmart furniture, except for the plastic latch that broke on the door of the new tv stand so the door doesn't stay closed. but big deal.
oh yeah, we also had a futon from there. only problem was the mattress was too thin, so bought one that had springs in it, and it worked perfectly until we were able to afford a "real" couch.
