John Lackey A Mariner?

Well this is one of the more intreguing rumors I've heard lately. Evidentially there's some evidence to suggest that L.A. Angels pitcher John Lackey will sign with Seattle. I've been listening to KJR and they seem to suggest the Mariners will sign him.

They have the money by dumping Johjima & Bautista and a couple others but I find this from the Angels most telling:

What free agents do you think the Angels will sign or re-sign?

I have my doubts that any of their three big names in free agency -- John Lackey, Chone Figgins and Vladimir Guerrero -- will be back

I've also heard that Lackey doesn't want to resign with them for some reason or another.

These rumors have to come from somewhere but I can't see the Angels not making a play to resign him. Not only that but why would he go from a team that missed going to the World Series by one game to a team that might barely make the playoffs this year?

As they say, stay tuned I guess......

The Mariners need someone to fall back on when Felix is playing for Boston.

I don't know about Boston Brian. The Mariners have some scratch to play with and if they don't make a play for Felix (which they will) they're fools. He's got 2 years left on his current contract but I think they'll resign him this year.

You were probably waiting for me to say he'd go to the Yankees but I seriously doubt he'd go there.

I don't see him going there, either.

I haven't seen anything about the M's chasing Lackey but I saw an article saying he may go to the Nats. Maybe he's some king of masochist.
