Supposed to be 13 degrees tomorrow night, DOWN from an earlier predicted low of 19. Beartooth Pass is closed. Hoses are rolled up and in the shed. Guess summer is over.

Up to 9 inches of the white here in Bozeman by tomorrow afternoon. High temp Friday of 35. Friday night low of 1. Saturday high of 23, and low Saturday night of 3. Sunday more of the same. Straight from summer to winter. Didn't we miss a season in there somewhere?

This weekend is going to be rough. We're working cows on Saturday and I'm already feeling guilty about how bad we're going to freeze the people who are coming to help.

I think the weather channel just said -11 wind chill but I can't be sure I turned the channel real fast, what I don't know won't freeze me.

It's 43 here this morning at 6 AK time.

The forecast doesn't look too bad except for that part about the wind. The barge made port yesterday with our groceries and winter supplies - sounds like they made it just in time.

High Wind Warning in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 8 am akdt Saturday . . .
Today
Patchy morning fog along the western CAPES. A slight chance of rain in the morning...then rain likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 50s. East wind 15 to 30 mph increasing to 40 to 55 mph in the afternoon. Gusts to 75 mph developing in the late afternoon.

Tomorrow's forecast seems to be a repeat.

Montana has three seasons. Almost winter. Winter. Still winter.

Some years we have one afternoon of spring and about four hours of fall. I've heard of places where they have long, lingering autumns but I've never lived there. I've also lived in Bozeman when we had the year with no summer. Tourists were freezing all over town.
