Fanning The Embers
Posted by Jason Wilder (+2) 21 years ago
Message to all; my name is Jason Wilder. Some of you long time Miles City residents probably remember my granddad Merle Wilder, and my dad Brad Wilder. My family is in possession of 1 copy of Fanning The Embers, but I am on the hunt for a copy of my own. The book contains some pictures of my great granddad Dale Wilder and would have great sentimental value to me. If anybody has any advice or guidance on how to find one, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jason D. Wilder

P.S. On a recent trip back to Montana (late November) I tried to take my wife to see the Range Rider's Museum. (this was her first ever trip to Montana) The museum was closed! Does anybody know what time of year it opens back up?

Spring. They are in full swing by Memorial Day when they have their annual meeting.

I am also interested in owning the book, Fanning the Embers.

I also would like to see a roster of all Range Rider members.

Also, I am looking for any information regarding Samuel Eaker, my great uncle, who worked on the XIT in Montana in the late 1800's. I am trying to find his grave. It would be in Miles City, Terry, Fallon, or any of the surrounding area. I would like to tour the XIT headquarters in Montana June 26 or 27. If anyone can help me with any kind of information, I am greatly appreciative. Thank you.

Vanetta: please check the Range Riders Museum site for more info on your ancestor. It may give you some insight into his later life. You can search it via the Miles City Chamber of Commerce too.
