People have been hurt by this particular hospital and i'm sure many others in our nation by many other hospitals.
I find this discussion board a place to share my pain in losing a family member to the lack of care provided by HRHC. It's taken me many years to speak up and overcome the grief of a sudden death of a beautiful 30 year old woman and sister who was turned away by the ER at HRHC.
Be respectful of those who find this forum a safe place to share thoughts and feelings. It doesn't mean we are right or fair, but we all have the right to voice our opinions.

<permaLink>http://milescity.com/forums/posts/view/213414/#306999</permaLink>

RE: Shame on Holy Rosary Healthcare

I'm late in my grovel for HRHC - but my sister Bridget Yother was turned away from the ER in 2006 and in January.
She was septic from an untreated infection.
She died 3 days after being turned away by the ER.
They passed judgment on her in regards to taking her illness seriously. A nurse at her funeral relayed to my mom we thought she was a drug addict searching for drugs. Hurtful, let down, disappointed, and saddened at the lack of care she recieved.
She could have lived and she didn't as she was not treated properly.
I hope HRHC has gotten their act together and I hope they treat the patient not treat what they think the patient needs.
My sister was too beat down in a community full of judgment passing individuals to know where to get help. I consistently advocate around our nation for better healthcare treatment and better mental health services in rural areas for all people living lives littered with trauma like my sister.
RIP Bridget Christine Yother 10/21/75 - 1/18/06.

HRHC - My local hospital where I grew up having faith in doctors makes me think twice about any care those in need are given, people are poor and self hurt with drug use, Miles City needs help and better mental health care access. Hope for the system improving survives my sister's death.

I'm saddened others are judged and not assisted in their efforts and share on this discussion as well. SHAME ON HOLY ROSARY HEALTHCARE, as the shame affects generations and families. Tisk, tisk who else is or was too late to save...? I'm guessing more than just my sister.

<permaLink>http://milescity.com/forums/posts/view/213414/#306998</permaLink>

RE: The First Vikings

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2012/12/18/science/18OBCHEESE_SPAN/18OBCHEESE_SPAN-articleLarge-v2.jpg

Here is an update:

The person that I was trying to help...suddenly decided that she didn't want to be my friend anymore. She gave no reason or anything. She just told me she didn't want me as a friend.

So, this string can die out now. I have no further need to try to help her. Her choice not mine. Thank you all for your input. Well, the helpful people at least.

<permaLink>http://milescity.com/forums/posts/view/300804/#306822</permaLink>

RE: From Today's Billings Gazette

Wonderful article...and, lots to be proud of, Karen and Jobie.

<permaLink>http://milescity.com/forums/posts/view/306790/#306801</permaLink>

RE: From Today's Billings Gazette

What a sweet article and picture of your dad and his pup!

<permaLink>http://milescity.com/forums/posts/view/306790/#306797</permaLink>

From Today's Billings Gazette

http://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/senior-volunteer-honored-for-dedicated-service/article_41bea611-0c3a-5f05-adac-a63a874a4236.html

Karen L. To keep tabs on what’s going on, we set up a state of the art weather monitoring station set up in our backyard.

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobext.php?wfo=byz&sid=KMLS&num=72&raw=0

There I look at the 72 hour total listed on the graph. I do it frequently enough that I just use the difference between events to determine the precipitation from any event. We also have a rain gauge at home.

Based upon that method, the airport received 1.1" on 12 June, but only 0.65" on 14 June.

You have to jump through hoops. Start here:

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/data-access/land-based-station-data/land-based-datasets/quality-controlled-local-climatological-data-qclcd

Click the "Quality Controlled Local Climatological Data (QCLCD)" link.

Select "Montana" and click "continue"

Scroll down to "***MILES CITY:..." select it and click "continue"

This list is monthly totals starting with the current month, so select "2013 06..." and click "continue"

Just leave the next selection on "E" and "Daily..HTML" and click "submit"

Column 16 is precipitation total.

<permaLink>http://milescity.com/forums/posts/view/306524/#306620</permaLink>

Found a "red" dog

Found a lovely female red/brown dog on 6/14/13 around the Holy Rosary Hospital Complex. The site listed .40 yesterday in one place and .59 today (early this morning, I assume) in another. There is no easy place to find precipitation totals, especially since the storms tend to involve the date change at midnight.
