Grace Lucile Hanson was born on Dec. 10, 1934, to John Perry Hanson and Florence Lucile Murray at the ranch home at the end of the East Fork of Otter Creek in Powder River County, Montana. She passed away on Sept. 9, 2017, in Absarokee. She went to East Fork School and graduated from Custer County High School in Miles City in 1951. She attended Custer County Junior College and airline ground school in Omaha, Nebraska. She then moved to Billings where she worked at Shell Oil Company. While there she met and married Lew Hines. They had two children, Cheryl and Craig. They were divorced in 1964 at which time she began a 27 year career in real estate sales in Billings. She moved to her Absarokee "summer" home permanently in 1988.

Her parents and brother, Darrel Hanson of Ashland, preceded her in death.

Left behind are daughter Cheryl Kalberg of Beaverton, Oregon, and son Craig Hines of Lihue, Kauai. Sisters Eileen Beckman of Missoula, and Iola Gierke of Miles City, and sister-in-law Marian Hanson of the family ranch near Ashland. She had six nieces, nine nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews. She was especially close to grandnieces Alishia Zemlicka of Belgrade and Amber Ballensky of Miles City.

Grace's family express their gratitude to Dr. Mark Piedra; the caretakers and residents of Shipp's Meadow Valley Home in Absarokee; and Della and Linda of Compassus Hospice.

We appreciate all of your love and support. The family will be having a private burial on Sunday.
