Mr. and Mrs. Ross Decker moved to Montana from Ft. Collins, Colorado, in 1911 and established a homestead near Stacey where they farmed a small acreage of land and raised cattle. Mr. Decker was also a carpenter by trade and built many houses and barns for neighbors and friends in Powder River County, including the Catholic church, the Scott house, and the Kelsey house. In 1949 the Deckers moved to Miles City where they make their home. Their daughter, Margaret, resides in Miles City and is presently employed at the Red Rock Village. She has two sons, Richard and John Kolka. Richard has just completed 4 years in the U. S. Navy, and is employed by the Electronic Co., in San Diego, California. In August, 1964, John was married to Gladys Barrere of Miles City and they make their home in Missoula; he is employed by the "Pioneer Bake and Serve". Another daughter, Jean, has been employed by Mountain States Telephone Co., since September, 1946. On February 14, 1959, she was married to Eugene Leidholt of Miles City, and they make their home in the Yellowstone Valley. They have one daughter, Tamara Sue. Recently Jean was promoted to Evening Chief Operator.
