This specimen was submitted for identification from the Custer County Extension agent. The specimen was collected in Miles City from a population growing in a lawn. The glabrate green leaves and large pistillate bracts (well over 2 mm long) which have a thick spongy layer of cells in which the fruit is embedded combine to distinguish this species.
