I'd like to post some photos of Haiti that my brother sent me but they are in Powerpoint format and I haven't figured out how to convert them to some usable format. Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it?

There may be a better method, but the quick and dirty way to do it is to hit your "PrtScn" button with the picture up on your screen and then open Paint and paste it. It may require some cropping afterward but it will work.

Unless you're one of those mac people in which case I can't help you.

You should be able to either drag them out of powerpoint and onto your desktop, or try copying and pasting them into Paint, and saving each as a JPG.

Apple (command)+Shift+4 on a mac will create a picture of anything on your desktop (and you don't have to fart around with pasting in paint and cropping). smile

Thanks, I was able to use Paint. I posted some photos in another thread but they're very small. I'll try to figure out how to make them physically larger.

I think Levi's "can't help you" was more of philosophical statement than an admission of ignorance.

For what it's worth, in Windows:

Pressing the PRINT SCREEN key should copy your entire desktop to the clipboard. You can then paste the image into programs such as Paint.

Pressing ALT+PRINT SCREEN (hold the ALT key down while pressing PRINT SCREEN) should copy just the window that is currently active into the clipboard.

Wendy, what was your brother doing in Haiti?

Bart,

Don't you read the Star? There was a decent article on his activities over there. He's attached to the UN Peacekeeping mission. He went over there in December. We thought it would be great because he wouldn't be stationed in the Middle East anymore and Haiti, while unsettled, was fairly safe. Ha!

Newspaper reading. That would require sitting and not doing anything else. At least MC.com only takes about 5 minutes . . . as long as you don't read the loooooooooooooooong posts.
