Interesting. I was just going through a file I have and found a Newspaper article dated January 13, 2012. The headline: "Officials: Progress made to ease North Dakota gas flaring". The article is from the Bismarck Tribune and mentions that the amount of natural gas that is torched and wasted daily by drillers in ND's oil patch, could heat more than 2,300 homes in the state for a year. It mentions that some progress was being made.

Another book I read mentions the "Sky Dumps" and health issues along with the waste. Good to see that all of this is being "followed".

"The rule was crafted to encourage the capture of waste and to recover lost revenue from wasted methane. Methane and other natural gases are a public resource that should not be wasted, as they have significant monetary value and practical uses."

Since Ms. Hanson and MCD are so concerned over the "significant monetary value" loss to the taxpayer, then perhaps they can show us where they want the pipelines built to carry this newly captured gas to market.

As I remember, MCD wasn't a big fan of the last one being constructed. And her newfound concern over the welfare of the taxpayer brings a tear to my eye.......
