Rob Porter: An Alleged Great Guy
Posted by Mary Catherine Dunphy (+2919) 9 months ago
Last week, President Donald Trump called his disgraced aide, Rob Porter a great guy.

I have one question: Does a great guy give his wife (or both of his ex-wives) a black eye?

Today, after a firestorm of protests about President Trump not denouncing domestic violence when he indicated Porter was a great guy last week, Trump acquiesced and finally said what he should have said in the first place -- that he is totally opposed to spousal abuse. Oh really? I recall Trump's first wife, Ivana, alleged in her divorce proceedings against Trump that he raped her. And, I believe Ivana Trump not Donald Trump. I also believe the 13 women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct, harassment, and/or assault. After all, Trump himself declared on videotape that he "grabs 'em by the cat."

I made a mistake in my post above. It's 19 women (not 13) who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct, harassment and/or sexual assault.

Here's the list:

https://www.theatlantic.c...mp/547724/

Also, it's not just Rob Porter -- Trump has a history of employing and defending other men accused of hurting women.

The list starts with Steve Bannon who "was charged in 1996 with domestic violence, battery, and dissuading a witness. According to a 1996 police report quoted in Politico, Bannon’s then-wife said he grabbed her neck, then threw the phone across the room when she tried to call 911. The charges were eventually dismissed when Bannon’s wife was 'unable to be located,' according to court records — she filed for divorce a few months later."

I didn't know about the Bannon episode but it kind of explains why a guy like Steve Bannon had no problem supporting and campaigning for a guy like Judge Roy Moore in his campaign for the U.S. Senate last fall. You may recall that Judge Roy Moore was accused by eight (8) women of sexual misconduct, harassment and/or sexual assault when they were teenagers. You will also recall that President Trump endorsed Judge Roy Moore because he wanted him in the U.S. Senate.

It's a strange way to "Make America Great Again!"

This is rich...an anonymous poster asking someone who posts under their real name to post details about their private life.

My mind just is boggled by the fate of this nation.

My history, Snowy? Do you really want to talk about the time back when I was 24 when a man I didn't know abducted me by wrapping a bowie knife around my neck and then sexually assaulted me out in the middle of nowhere when it wouldn't have done me any good to scream because there was no help around for miles? Also, I was worried that if I screamed he might slit my throat. The police never found that guy and I believe I wasn't his first victim. Or, Snowy, do you want to discuss the time I was hospitalized for PTSD related to that event and talk to the psychiatrists who treated me? Or, Snowy, do you want to talk about all the victims of rape and sexual assault (and the extent of their injuries) I saw treated at the hospital ER when I worked my through college. Or, Snowy, do you want to discuss the other innumerable other ways I have experienced sexual harassment, assault or otherwise inappropriate behavior in my life?

Take your pick, Snowy! But you know, Snowy, men like you and Donald Trump believe all of us women who are complaining about the way we have been treated are making it all up. I doubt, Snowy, that you want to talk with any of the numerous experts about the effects of trauma.

Snowy, you are a piece of sh*t! And, so is Donald Trump. And, Snowy, Donald Trump deserves to be, and should be in jail. He is an admitted serial sexual predator -- no qualification in my opinion to be president of the United States.

In the meantime, this editorial by Ruth Marcus was printed in last night's Miles City Star -- "Trump Say He's Concerned about Due Process. Since When?"

And, here is what one of Rob Porter's ex-wife had to say about Porter's illegal behavior toward her.
