At last night's climate forum at Fort Keogh, Kevin Hyde of UM's Montana Climate Office and Coordinator of the Montana Mesonet Project gave a fascinating presentation about climate and weather data being collected by monitoring devices placed across the state. Those in agriculture might find this a useful data tool.

"The Montana Mesonet is a network of closely spaced stations that monitor soil moisture and weather. The data are transmitted via cellular signals and can be viewed online by a computer or smartphone through the Montana Climate Office (MCO). The purpose of the MT Mesonet is to support adaptive management of agricultural lands, rangelands, and natural ecosystems with the aim of building resilient and sustainable economic and ecological systems."
