Redhead, don't listen to that drivel. He seems to expect the economy of a large city with the quaintness of a small town. Yeah, MC has issues, every place does. Drugs can be a problem, but it's not like they are standing on every corner selling blow and hookers to 10 year olds!
Many people on here, myself included, were born and raised in Miles City. I couldn't wait to leave. Now, in my late 40's I desire to go back. There's something about the small town life that is very appealing. No it's not exciting, but it is very comfortable.
Pay is what you would expect in a small town. No, you're not going to make a fortune, but you could live comfortably. Housing is becoming expensive, but that's a nationwide issue. Miles City was a recipient/victim of the recent oil boom. Lots of people coming into town has a cause and effect effect on all prices and markets. It is most noticeable in a small town, where residents are used to fewer problems, lower costs, and a more quiet life.
Miles City is probably one of the best places to raise kids. Lots of good kids to be friends with and still small town "trouble" to get into.
I think if you have kids, if you want a more quiet life, if you are looking for a place to know your neighbors or enjoy a more relaxing life, Miles City is a great pick!
