J. Geils Band should be a shoe-in. It's a travesty they are not already in.

Others I would vote for:

MC5 - Kick out the jams, you mutha....
Steppenwolf - Just for Born to be Wild, alone
Electric Light Orchestra - Slightly hesitant on this, but Ma-ma-ma-belle and Do Ya make a strong case, as well as Kuiama.
Pearl Jam - I'm not a big fan, but their body of work is worthy.
The Zombies
maybe the Cars
Definitely not Journey

Why are:

As far as I'm concerned, the RNR Hall of fame has no validity until Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods are properly enshrined.

Bobby Vee should be in the RNR Hall of Fame. Being a fan and having seen him in concert several times, I just assumed he was in. Maybe next year?

I was just reading about Dionne Warwick. She has had 69 songs in Billboard's Top 100 over 30 plus years. Should she not be in the RNR Hall of Fame?

Tom. If you just "say a little prayer", the answer will become apparent.

If that is your definition of rock and roll, then why isn't Frank Sinatra in?

I agree.

Many moons ago, KLOS(95.5 FM) classic rock radio in L.A., used to play this every Friday afternoon at 3:25PM. Our Chief Chemist and resident party animal would always have it cranked full blast to celebrate the arrival of beer-thirty.

You would think I would be used to seeing the music of my youth being elected to the Hall Of Fame, but it catches me every time.

I don't know why any of those bands should be excluded though - I'm not familiar enough with Yes or ELO to say one way or the other, but the rest were/are seminal bands within their respective genres (Butt Rock had to come from somewhere)

Pearl Jam's induction isn't too shabby for a boy from Big Sandy

Meh to the 2017 inductees. Those of you who don't know what rock'n'roll is, listen to this.
