I wonder if this pay phone ever got installed, if it is still there, and how many times it has been used.

From the September 22, 2014, Miles City Star:

People and Perspectives from Miles City's past

25 YEARS AGO (1989)

The Custer County Commis-
sioners said they will support
Mary Singleton in her effort to
persuade Midrivers Telephone
Cooperative to put a pay tele-
phone on a ridge on the Crow
Rock Road. There is a stretch
of about 30 miles between
ranch houses there.[/b]

"I liked the pay phone posted at Spotted Eagle, the one where some wag wrote, "Yell real loud".

There actually was a payphone installed adjacent to the schoolhouse on the Crow Rock Road. It received very little use, and with the removal of the schoolhouse and the increase of cell phone use, it was removed.

Having been out in that country recently, the only pay phone I noticed was the one at Cohagen. The only pay phone between Miles City and Jordan.
